Lucia On Holiday by Guy Fraser- Sampson

                                                               Lucia on Holiday

I read this on my own and I am relieved now that I did as I spent the majority of the time laughing out loud and chuckling away to myself. Mapp and Lucia are back!! This author has done a wonderful job of bringing these two friends back to life in this hilarious, bitchy, sarcastic gem. You cannot get past more then the odd page without running into barbed insults, decorated sweetly, and handed out freely.. The ladies and their gentlemen are in Italy where their snobbishness has reached a whole other level ( perhaps it's the different air ;0) )
While always maintaining a glamorous exterior, both ladies never fail to entertain those around them with their antics and trying to gain one up on each other, neither will stop at any length to outdo the other while they both pretend to be great friends rather then the clear rivals that they are.
There are many opportunities for hilarious things to go wrong ,and that is exactly what happens as they each try and step on one another in the most fashionable heels dahling to be crowned top dog in their circle!!!!
This is a must read for anyone who enjoys a really good giggle.I sincerely hope that we are going to be seeing another book following on from this one by Guy Fraser-Sampson as this one was pure comedy!

I received this book from lovereading but if you would like to know more about it then check it out here

Joanne Harris,Cleo Coyle,Vanessa Greene,Niki Valentine

I have incredibly high hopes for the collection of books I am reading this week.
Pretty covers,enticing content.
Peaches for Monsieur Le Cure... I was so excited about this book as I am a big fan of Joanne Harris's writing . Chocolat (book 1) was a much loved book, I had to get multiple copies of it as I wore each copy out.( I dropped one in the bath too, but that's another story....)
This is book 3 in the Chocolat series..
In the center of this series is a woman called Vianne, mother ,friend, chocolate maker extraordinaire .In this book a letter from the past is reaching out to bring her back to a place she left many years ago .
Book two in the series is called " The lollipop shoes",it is also incredibly moreish, it will be interesting now to see where the characters lives are at since we left them in this book.
No matter which book you start reading in this series they will not be a let down, I would start with Chocolat and read the series in order as you will get the most from it that way but it is not essential. These books have characters you will fall in love with and not want to leave when you close the last page :0)
I always feel a little sad leaving each book as I loved the story and characters so very much.

Can you tell I have a fondness for cute cups :0)
The above cover is soooooooooo pretty. When I saw this book I wanted it... when I read the back I was even more excited!!
A terrifying honeymoon book... Yikes!!! This cover is soooo freaky(in a good way), it really is the ideal cover for a creepy book.... You can almost sense the danger creeping off it's foggy dark cover.. Love it!!

In my Mailbox

LUCIA ON HOLIDAY
What a wonderful cover to this book.I adore it!!
If you were a lover of the books belonging to the Mapp and Lucia series by E F Benson  then you may very well be excited about this new book out by Guy Fraser-Sampson. Bitchy ,sarcastic and incredible fun to read -love it,love it!!
 I can't put it down!

The below book I won on a competition Yay!!!! Can't wait to read it! This is a real action packed adventure, bombs. a virus, secret labs and scientists etc... I have a feeling that reading this is going to be a nail biting experience... and not just a little nibble!!

Schroder by Amity Gaige

This was a really interesting book about the break down of a marriage and the custody battle for their child told from the father/husband's side. From early on in the book I took a dislike to the child's mother Laura, but the father/husband Erik I liked straight away,he seems like a loving father and doting husband , it is hard to watch him struggle later in the book with the amount of access he is granted to his own child. This was a book that really gets you thinking when you see the wrong decisions Erik makes in regards to his child, you can almost sympathise with what he is going through,he is put into a position where he has to ask permission to see his own child.. It's sad and heartbreaking at times , my heart went out to him . Often emotional and very touching with a sweet kid called Meadow in the middle of all of it. Read it with a box of tissues.
I received this ARC copy from the lovely people over at lovereading ,if you would like to know more about this page turner then check this out :http://www.lovereading.co.uk/book/8282/Schroder-by-Amity-Gaige.html

Will Grayson,Will Grayson I got for a bargain 50 pence! It did not have it's dust cover.I have not read this before but I love John Green's previous books so I imagine this will be fantastic too.
I know nothing about this book but the cover intrigued me so I thought I would check it out!
When I was a teenager Point Horror books were my favourite ! Many a lawn was mowed in the hope of getting enough pocket money to buy these books. These are collections of three books in each book.Looking forward to reading these stories again.

My older copy of this was well battered so I picked up another copy

Will Grayson,Will Grayson

This was not the first book I read by John Green ,to be honest I don't know what took me sooo long ot get around to this one but now that I have I can say it was great!!!!!!!!
Reading this book you cannot imagine that an adult wrote it. ..I should clarify... he understands young people and reading this I can imagine clearly in my mind a teenage guy telling me this story,at no time did I think otherwise. That's pretty great!!John Green is like the adult who grew up but remembered all the crap times of a teenagers life..In a way I think of him in the same way as Roald Dahl,he too could write stories for young people, on their level and from their point of view,he did not forget what it was like to be young ..My favourite character was Tiny. The big heart in the big body, with enough personality for a hundred people. The story itself was touching , sad, and funny ,I recommend this to everyone espescially if you are already a John Green fan.

Reading this weekend
